YMCA of Greater Boston Advertising

This was a comprehensive brand design of a new music festival, MIXFEST. This festival has something for everyone, and features a wide assortment of artists performing and collaborating together. The design decisions aimed to reflect the festival’s eclectic and vibrant atmosphere. The branding includes a bold logo, with a flowing colorful version, the aims to symbolize the mix of music genres. The promotional materials and marketing campaign also use a variety of bright and eye-catching graphics that reflect the energy and excitement of the event. Overall, this campaign aims to reflect the immersive, diverse festival experience that attendees would experience at MIXFEST.

Process

The goal of the art direction for this project was to create a blended softness to encompass the mix of genres that would be performing. Then, I wanted to “mix” the look of this soft, blended energy with the lively, bold vibes of a typical music festival. I decided the bold elements should be incorporated through the logo and color. The main graphic elements have the soft, organic feeling, and use color to keep them eye-catching and exciting.
